The favorite part of my day was… Being in the Kindergarten classroom & seeing 1st hand how lucky we are to have Miss Vassar in Sherman. She is a natural & an excellent educator… Seeing all of the neon/80s dress up spirit in staff & students… Getting calibrated on instructional leadership with Principal Kroll… & a visiting volleyball parent seeking me out to compliment our school on our facilities & grounds. So kind & unprovoked…a testament to our facilities staff, & all staff & students for the care we take with our school. Great day to be a Husky. The favorite part of my day was… Watching our awesome teachers & students (especially our ASB leadership officers) showcase our school to our special visitor today - the Governor! It was an honor to welcome the Governor to our campus & introduce her to our incredible students & dedicated staff. She took a tour of our school, chatted with students, & participated in some classroom activities. We appreciate the interest the Governor showed in our school & community while she is on her statewide tour visiting every county in Oregon. The favorite part of my day was… Seeing one of our kindergarten students being dropped off by his dad this morning. While the student returned to his dad multiple times for goodbye hugs, his dad was very encouraging, & when the student arrived in the cafeteria & saw his teacher he exclaimed, “I got three hugs from my dad!!!” The joy in his face was priceless & observing that interaction between him & his father was the perfect reminder that we are entrusted each day with parents & guardians most precious things, their children.
